1. Overview
Sport Nutrition, a Belgian retailer of sports supplements, grew from a few stores to 16 physical shops and 2 eCommerce platforms with over 2,200 SKUs. As Operations, eCommerce & Marketing lead, I spearhead the digital transformation and expansion, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and scalable growth.

2. Challenge
As Operations & Marketing Director at Sport Nutrition, my task was to lead the digital transformation of Belgium’s largest sport supplement retailer.
When I joined Sport Nutrition, the company had 11 shops and a single eCommerce store. The business was growing fast, but the systems and structures was still lacking for scale. The POS regularly caused issues, and there was no unified view of customers, loyalty, or sales.
At the same time, demand was rising. To compete against global players, Sport Nutrition needed to strengthen its physical footprint while also professionalizing its digital ecosystem. The challenge was clear: grow the retail network and expand into B2B, while transforming the business into a scalable, digital-first company.
3. Solution
We quickly realized the old way of working wouldn’t sustain the next stage of growth. I led a complete digital transformation project, rolling out Odoo ERP across every aspect of the business: POS, eCommerce, inventory, purchasing, invoicing, and marketing.
I worked hand-in-hand with Portcities’ remote development team, leveraging time zones to accelerate delivery. Together we deployed 80+ updates tailored to the needs of a Belgian retailer, including custom Stripe integrations when traditional providers fell short.
Alongside the system overhaul, I expanded the company’s footprint:
- Opening 5 new retail stores, growing the network from 11 to 16 locations
- Launching a dedicated B2B eCommerce platform to serve professional clients and gyms
This dual focus—retail expansion + digital transformation—ensured that every new store and channel was born “future-proof” from day one.
4. Results
Sport Nutrition grew from 11 shops and 1 eShop to 16 stores and 2 eCommerce platforms (B2C + B2B).
Manual processes were replaced with automated workflows, saving days of operational effort.
Loyalty and customer data became unified across online and offline, boosting retention.
Pricing, inventory, and supply chain visibility were streamlined, enabling sustainable scaling.
The company is now positioned as Belgium’s #1 sport nutrition retailer, with a foundation ready for European expansion.
As I often describe it: “We didn’t just add stores—we built the backbone of a business that can keep growing, in any channel.”
